Well its 9 years later and they have changed the clip a couple times but still use that ridiculous sticker. Mine fell off before I even opened the package. If they would just stamp an arrow on the side we'll figure out thats indicating the direction of flow. Its a small ask considering what they charge for a screen and a little magnet made in china.

so a couple things...1. dont put anything underneath just let it fall. it relieves the pressure and lets you pull the strut off the arm. if it still wont come off just simply using a pry bar between it and the strut is sufficient. do this after you take the top off. 2. you can undo the nut at the top to get the mount off its a 17 mm i used an electric impact from dewalt. its a hell of a lot easier (and safer) than using an angle grinder. mine is sitting at 170k miles with original equipment and its been 9 years since this video, so for anyone else doing it now and found this heres some tips.

Waste of my time...I was hinting that you were going to demonstrate an alternate method besides the obvious process that uses a special tool which can be determined by anyone besides a total moron looking at the internal threaded section....you could have said as soon as you began that to complete this job requires the special hub puller...

One reason Malibu transformer remains on may be a “bad” or absent photocell sensor. I simply replaced photocell with Goodsmann sensor off Amazon. Problem solved. 2:25

are you just touching the negative terminal by the battery? in the picture you have the pump both pos and neg clipped so Im guessing its the other negative. thanks

My local auto shop said could run close to 1k for permanent fix since it’s over 8hrs of labor and yes u have it lift engine…. But another fix could be temporary fix for up to 6months or more or so.. for $200 he will clean the entire engine and wield the part together… This should last about 6 months or so..

When you took off the reservoir did you remove the hose attached to it?Did you have any issues putting the hose back on the coolant reservoir? Did it just slide back on or did you have use a pick or something to get it back on?

That stream is not related to the water pump cooling system. Rather it is a port off the prop/jet. Simply removing the stock hose (both ends) will accomplish the same thing. But the “zip tie solution” featured here is a nice option. FYI, 😊I have successfully used a silicone stopper in the viz spout hole for a really easy solution when the wind is spraying my passenger relentlessly.

Thank you! For me, only the power worked, for years (2012 remote), I was about to buy another one than followed your advice. Cleaned/washed as thoroughly as I could, but still after that only the power and a few other buttons at the botton worked. What do you think, should I repeat the cleaning, or chances are that part of the electronic connections are gone? Anyway, very helpful post.

Thanks, saved me a headache. Mine looks slightly different but close enough. It was assembled incorrectly before I got it and the throttle wouldn't move at all. I screwed the advance lever into place first and moved it back and forth while putting the main plate on. That helped it go into the groove a lot easier.

If you build it with the rail side facing your house then you are responsible for the payment but since you flipped it around, you can claim that you did work to the property and file a lein with the county and with a little waiting and some paperwork get paid. Maybe even take ownership of the house.

I know this is a 2 year old video but your video may help may save me a few dollars. The rung lock you used as a replacement was a Werner model 28-11. Is that the rung lock prescribed as a replacement or did you use it because it appeared to be one that would work.

ive been working on a buddys boat that he bought several years back and the oil injection system was removed when he bought it.. been mixing quicksilver 50:1 and sea foam the whole time.. The oil pump is just sitting there with no hoses connected. Its been this way since he bought it and the boat gets run 30-40 hours a year. Do i need to fill with oil and make a loop now? im not understanding what the purpose of the pump is now since the system is removed. Thank you for your time!

Tohatsu outboard does not get gasoline into the cylinders. The injector, ecu, spark plugs are intact. When I pour gasoline into the pistons, it works a little. When you press the starter, oily gasoline comes out of the exhaust. Greetings from Turkey..

Do not put die electric grease on those connectors! It interferes with the signal wire and that alone will throw a code

Same problem here with Denon RC-1181 remote. When I use my mobile phone's camera to check if the buttons even send an infra-red signal, I realized that the volume buttons are the only 2 which are not sending anything. I opened and cleaned everything.. still the same issue. Looks like a hardware issue in my case.
